Basik Café – Kailua Kona

Tex Drive In – Honokaa

Located in Honoka’a on the Hamakua coast this restaurant has been serving local Hawaiian food since 1969. Enjoy your meal in their large open-air patio or take your meal to go as you tour around the island. You can watch their world famous Malasadas being hand made in their bakery from the large viewing window. Malasadas also known as “Portuguese Fried Dough” is yeast-based fried dough balls coated with sugar. Tex Drive In is known for their delicious cream filled Malasada options!

Ken’s House of Pancakes – Hilo, HI

Known for it’s friendly staff and large portions this old-fashioned diner with a mile-long menu is a must if you are on the East Side of the island. Here you’ll find banana pancakes topped with macadamia nuts, a variety of omelets, and their Sumo size dishes. That’s right, if you have a big appetite go with the Sumo Size Saimim and Sumo Size Loco Moco and the staff will hit the gong as your plate comes out to your table!
