Debi is a successful Broker because of her dynamic life experience on the island and her commitment to continuing education. Her experience living in Hawaii was created by the people she was closest to - her family. She attended Punahou School - Former President Barack Obama’s alma mater - where she met her high school sweetheart and future husband.
As your Broker, Debi can draw on her experience as a mother and a wife to make the best resources and solutions available to you. She procured her real estate license in 1979 but focused on raising her three children Elisha, Nicolas and Julia for the next 9 years before returning to the field in 1988.
Raising a family produces an in-depth knowledge of the roads, neighborhoods and school districts of a region. Debi is able to use this knowledge to both understand and find solutions to clients who are concerned about their families, general safety or noise-level of their surroundings.
Adding to her comprehensive knowledge of the island is her experience raising three junior and high school golfers. If golf is your game, you can be assured that Debi is well versed on the numerous courses on the island and their proximity to many assets.
In addition, her commitment to community development adds to her unique profile a Broker. She was actively involved in the West Hawaii Parent Association for boarding students at Kamehameha Schools during the years her daughter Elisha and son Nicolas were students on Oahu. She nobly inherited the family tradition of Santa at Kawaihae Transitional Housing from her parents, eventually enlisting the support of MacArthur and Company in 1992.
After all this Debi still found the energy to work her way up to Principal Broker at MacArthur Sotheby’s International Realty in 2001. Her vertical advancement as a Broker is due to her commitment to continuing education, a diligent, detailed approach and a wealth of repeat clients and referrals.
Having been a busy, active parent to Elisha, Nicolas and Julia, Debi and her husband Wedemeyer are just beginning to learn what an 'empty nest' is all about. Favorite Pastimes? Sewing, reading and gardening. Maybe someday!
