Carl Carlson was born and raised on Maui, attended Baldwin High School and graduated from Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, California. Much of his career was spent at Huehue Ranch in Kona where his work included managing the ranch and working on entitlements, subdivisions, real estate development and large parcel sales. He also served as one of the three Trustees of Parker Ranch for ten years before moving back to Kona to found a consulting firm with a focus on assisting offshore clients with acquisition, entitlement and operations of high value real estate.
Carl holds a firm belief in community and public service and has served on the University of Hawaii Board of Regents, the State Board of Agriculture, the County of Hawaii Board of Ethics and the County of Hawaii Police Commission. Among others, he has served on the board of the Hawaii Chapter of the Nature Conservancy, The Kohala Center, The Hawaii Rangelands Trust and on the Advisory Committee of the Kuki'o Community Fund.
